ALSA Council
ALSA’s governing body is Council, to which each member association may appoint two representatives, who are usually its President and Vice-President (Education). ALSA's day-to-day operations are run by an Executive and Committee who are elected at the Annual General Meeting by Council.
ALSA Council meets three times a year. As ALSA's managing body, the Council so discusses any current issues in ALSA administration. The Council assists to inform the stance that the ALSA Executive & Committee takes on these issues. However, it’s most important function is as a knowledge sharing forum for law student societies. Council sessions often include Workshops, State-Based Breakout Sessions, Conversations around Best Practice Guides and the issues which concern our broader student community. These meetings are led by the elected members of our National Committee and are organised in response to the needs of our members..
