ALSA Crisis Negotiation Competition

The Australian Law Students’ Association Crisis Negotiation Competition is an intensive four-day simulation designed to test competitors’ advocacy, strategy, communication, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments. Held from 20–23 June, the competition places teams in the centre of rapidly evolving legal and political crises, requiring participants to negotiate complex disputes, manage stakeholder interests, and respond to unfolding developments in real time.

Across a series of dynamic scenarios, competitors will engage with issues spanning international law, public policy, corporate disputes, media management, and emergency response. Success in the competition demands not only persuasive negotiation skills, but also creativity, teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to think critically under pressure.

Open to law students across Australia & New Zealand, the ALSA Crisis Negotiation Competition offers a unique opportunity for students to develop practical legal and professional skills in an immersive and fast-paced setting, while competing against teams from law schools across Australia.

There is no cap on the number of teams per university, and participants are welcome to form teams with students from any law school, inter-university teams are strongly encouraged.

Tickets: The registration fee is $49.50 per competitor (GST inc.). Please purchase one ticket per competitor. Tickets may be purchased together as a team or individually. If purchasing individually, please ensure you enter the same team name so we can correctly identify your teammate.
